In conjunction with Chinese New Year, Transport Minister Anthony Loke stated that the number of daily Electric Train Service (ETS) trips by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has been increased to 58.
"With the commissioning of a new batch of ETS3 trains, KTMB has added 16 extra ETS trips during the festive period, raising the total to 58 trips, including two trains heading to Padang Besar.
Loke mentioned that these two newly added trips will provide 5,040 additional seats, with ticket sales starting today (14th) at 12:15 a.m.
"During this year's Chinese New Year period, KTMB will offer a total of 183,324 tickets, an increase of 28% compared to last year, with an additional 51,444 tickets available.
Loke made this announcement during a press conference held at Kuala Lumpur Sentral.
He pointed out that since November 17 last year, KTMB has started selling tickets in advance for February 2026 for ETS, KTM Intercity, and Tebrau Shuttle services, allowing travelers to plan their trips ahead of time.
Loke stated that this initiative is one of KTMB's measures to meet the travel demand during the festive season and to ease traffic congestion.
