On the evening of the 23rd local time, explosions were heard over Tehran, the capital of Iran, with air defense systems activated and firing at hostile targets.
However, multiple Israeli media outlets each cited sources on the night of the 23rd, reporting that Israel had not launched an airstrike on Iran that evening.
The Times of Israel website quoted an Israeli security official that night as saying: "Israel has not launched an attack on Iran."
Channel 12 television also cited Israeli military sources as saying that Israel would "not attack Iran at this time."
Meanwhile, according to a report by Iran's Fars News Agency on the 23rd, Iran activated its air defense system that evening in response to the appearance of small drones in multiple locations inside the country.
The report said that the reason for the sound of air defense systems activation in Tehran and several other cities was due to the detection of small drones, including Israel's "Orbiter" reconnaissance drone.
