(Reported from Miri 28th) The Miri Branch of the Sarawak Indigenous Entrepreneurs Chamber (DUBS Cawangan Miri) held an appreciation tea gathering on 23rd March to honor long-term media partners and volunteers actively involved in disaster relief during Miri's floods in February.

The event was held at a local restaurant, attended by members of the DUBS Miri committee, media representatives, and volunteers.

The Chairman of the Sarawak Indigenous Entrepreneurs Chamber (DUBS) Miri Branch, Mohammad Hafidz Rohani, expressed gratitude to major media for their ongoing support in promoting and reporting on DUBS.

He noted that media partners play a crucial role in amplifying the voice of entrepreneurs, highlighting livelihood issues, conveying suggestions, and covering important policies affecting the business community. They are very grateful for the support and cooperation from the media.

He emphasized that DUBS Miri Branch not only supports policies beneficial to livelihoods but also provides constructive opinions and criticisms on policies that might pressure the local economy, ensuring business interests are noticed and protected.

The event also specially recognized nearly 20 volunteers who actively participated in the "DUBSCares" disaster relief effort. This initiative not only provided aid in Miri but also extended to assisting disaster victims in areas such as Niah. DUBS members collectively raised about RM30,000 worth of supplies, including food, hygiene products, and transportation arrangements, delivered to affected areas.

Moreover, with the support of the Sarawak government, the DUBS Miri Branch successfully mobilized machinery to clear nearly 30 tons of trash and silt from the disaster areas and assisted landslide victims in Kampung Lereng Bukit by leveling the land, enabling victims to rebuild their homes quickly.

Hafidz stated that these achievements fully reflect the spirit of unity and concern for community among DUBS members, and this dedication and contribution are worthy of affirmation and gratitude.

He also took this opportunity to inform all members and the media that the DUBS Miri Branch will hold the election for the 2025-2028 new board and the annual general meeting (AGM) on April 27, 2025, during which new leadership will be elected.

DUBS Miri Branch sincerely thanks all media partners, volunteers, and members for their support and contributions, and will continue to work together to promote the development of the business community and community in Sarawak.
