According to Xinhua News Agency, Xi Jinping met with Turkmen national leader and Chairman of the People's Council Berdimuhamedov at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. Xi noted that the recently concluded National People's Congress successfully adopted and approved the "15th Five-Year Plan" outline, which will provide a solid foundation for China's basic realization of socialist modernization and benefit all countries worldwide. He stated that China is willing to discuss major cooperation plans with Turkmenistan, share development opportunities, and promote the building of a China-Turkmenistan community with a shared future for deeper and more practical results.
Xi Jinping said that regardless of how the international situation changes, China will always support Turkmenistan in safeguarding its national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and always support Turkmenistan in adhering to its permanent neutrality policy. Both sides should also accelerate the joint advancement of the "Belt and Road" initiative and align it with the "Revival of the Silk Road" strategy, expand cooperation in the natural gas sector, raise the level of trade and investment, and broaden cooperation in connectivity, agriculture, artificial intelligence, digital economy, clean energy, and other non-resource fields. He stressed the need to resolutely combat the "three evil forces" to solidify the security barrier for both countries' development. Facing the emergence of various global challenges, China is willing to work with Turkmenistan to uphold the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits in global governance, and to lead global governance reforms with the concepts of fairness, justice, openness, and inclusivity.
Berdimuhamedov stated that the friendly relations between Turkmenistan and China have developed rapidly and steadily, with rich cooperation in various fields, reaching a high level of comprehensive strategic partnership. Turkmenistan will, as always, adhere to the one-China principle and is willing to strengthen the alignment of development strategies with China, expand practical cooperation in energy, trade, connectivity, and other areas, and jointly seek development and prosperity as well as promote security and stability.
