Star singer Aska Yang, who became the chairman of the community management committee at his residence in Linkou District, New Taipei City, was recently reported by a magazine as being part of a family of 'bad neighbors,' causing discontent among residents. Unwilling to let his reputation be tarnished, he immediately posted on Weibo a video of KMT New Taipei City Councilor Tsai Shu-Chun clarifying the situation for him, as well as private messages from residents thanking him for taking on the chairman role, to prove his innocence. However, the controversy has yet to subside. In response, Aska Yang spoke out for the second time yesterday (the 20th) to clear his name, and posted the police report certificate confirming that he intends to file a lawsuit for defamation and leakage of personal information.
With over 6.01 million followers on Weibo, Aska Yang has in recent years been actively developing his career in the Chinese market. He once again publicly voiced his stance on Weibo, writing: “Respect everyone’s choices, and believe that all actions come with corresponding consequences. Persist in doing the right thing, and trust that the world has its own way of balancing. Our lives, emotions, and future are defined by ourselves.” He also thanked legislator You Yu-Lan and Principal Guo Li-An, writing, “It is precisely because I am influenced by your integrity that I have the motivation to keep shining.”
In an earlier video, Tsai Shu-Chun stated that she had received complaints from residents, and that the issue actually stemmed from the previous round of security guards losing the latest contract bid, after which they retaliated against Chairman Aska Yang out of spite. Private messages from residents also expressed, “You have always been a very good neighbor,” and, “This community had been in poor condition for so long. As a celebrity, you risked being attacked by stepping up, and we are truly grateful.” Aska Yang responded: “Thank you Councilor Tsai Shu-Chun! Thank you to the residents for your support and concern!” Now, cherishing his reputation, Aska Yang has posted the police report certificate as evidence to defend his innocence.
