(Kuching, 24th) Cooperation with international media will bring Sarawak's products onto the world stage.
Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Dr. Sim Kui Hian, stated that these products include tourism, education, cultural characteristics, and talent cultivation, all of which will bring the region to the world.
He noted that many products in Sarawak are currently only known locally, with their uniqueness yet to be showcased abroad.
"We in Sarawak have very good products, but with so much social media, we still can’t promote them outside of Sarawak. Only we know about them, but the whole world doesn’t."
"This is also an opportunity for us, to use these platforms, through all these different products, to promote them to the world."
Sim Kui Hian made these remarks during a media interview after attending the launch ceremony of Mango Media (Borneo) Sdn Bhd, a mango media company under Hunan Broadcasting System, which has just set up a branch in Sarawak.
As the Sarawak Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government, he further commented that the region boasts a diverse and interesting lifestyle that, if strongly promoted, could become a tourism product.
"Hopefully, Mango Media is not just another media outlet here, but rather a potential platform, which through collaboration between Mango Media and Sarawak, can bring Sarawak onto the world stage."
