(Seria, 12th) — The Seria Rotary Club recently held its annual "Family Jungle Hiking" event, attracting more than 300 enthusiastic participants to collectively support environmental protection and community service initiatives.
This event aimed to promote several major charitable programs of the Rotary Club, including coral conservation, the maintenance of Kampong Ayit wooden walkway, as well as providing scholarships to underprivileged students. Participants enjoyed a healthy Sunday afternoon amidst lush jungle trails, while also contributing to meaningful charitable causes.
The event began at 3 p.m., with participants first engaging in warm-up and stretching exercises before embarking on the jungle hike. There were two routes, a 2.5 km short route and a 5 km long route, to cater to participants with different physical needs. The event concluded at 6 p.m., with a communal dinner arranged for all registered participants to further promote community interaction and cohesion.
The successful organization of this family jungle hiking event marks another significant milestone for the Rotary Club in advancing environmental protection, community service, and educational support.
In addition to the jungle hike, the club also regularly conducts blood donation drives, beach cleaning activities, as well as public welfare projects related to clean water and sanitation, continuously contributing to social welfare.
