(Thailand, 5th) Thai Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Anutin held a press conference on the issue of drug enforcement, declaring a tough crackdown on the production and trafficking of drugs, and stating that significant achievements in drug enforcement must be made during the current government's term.
On Saturday (October 4), Anutin held a press conference at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters to announce the results of a major drug bust: seized drugs included 18.25 million methamphetamine pills, 1,488 kilograms of methamphetamine crystals (commonly known as 'ice'), and 29 kilograms of ketamine.
According to China News Service quoting Anutin, the press conference demonstrated the Thai government's determination to fight drug-related crimes. The Thai government has integrated forces from all sides to the greatest extent permitted by law, and is ready at any time to launch stern crackdowns against drug traffickers and producers. Over the past two years, the Ministry of the Interior of Thailand has carried out multiple operations, seizing and destroying drugs.
Anutin pointed out that drug transportation routes have become increasingly complex, and police enforcement methods must be highly effective. At the same time, the police need to strengthen cooperation with local governments at all levels and seek the support of the international community in order to combat drug trafficking with maximum force.
Anutin said that the drugs seized and announced this time are the results of anti-drug efforts since the new government took office on September 19. He thanked all parties for their cooperation and believes that with the joint support and collaboration of all sides, the current government's anti-drug efforts will achieve significant results.
