Following the Kuala Lumpur High Court's order for the police to reinvestigate the Teoh Beng Hock case within 6 months, Dato' Seri Suhaili, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department at Bukit Aman, stated that the police will identify witnesses who need to retake their statements after the Chinese Lunar New Year.

He addressed the media today (27th) at Bukit Aman Police Headquarters, expressing his belief that this process will not take too long and that the investigation report will be submitted within the stipulated time.

He mentioned that the police have already received the court order to submit an investigation report by May, and he along with the investigating officer will visit the crime scene for inspection.

“However, it is well-known that this case happened 15 years ago, and many changes have occurred at the location.”

Last year on November 21, the High Court approved the judicial review application filed by Teoh Beng Hock's parents, issuing an order for the police to complete the investigation of the Teoh Beng Hock case.

Teoh Beng Hock was a political secretary to then-Selangor Executive Councillor Ean Yong Hian Wah. He was taken to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission office on the 14th floor of the same building to give a statement, and was later found dead on the 5th-floor balcony of Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam on July 16, 2009.

On another note, regarding the attack case where national and Selangor football club player Muhammad Faiz Sulaiman was doused with acid, Suhaili mentioned that the case is still under investigation and there are currently no new leads to assist the investigation.

On May 5, 2024, 26-year-old Mohamad Faiz was attacked with acid at a shopping center in Kota Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, resulting in fourth-degree burns on multiple parts of his body.
