A 34-year-old British tourist and a 61-year-old local woman were suspected of 'public intimacy' on Pattaya Beach in Thailand in the early hours of the 23rd. After being witnessed by the public, the police were immediately notified and both individuals were subsequently dealt with according to the law. They could face a fine of 5,000 baht (about 646 ringgit).
According to Thaiger, local police received a public report at 4:19 a.m. stating that a man and a woman were engaged in sexual activity on Pattaya Beach. The man was wearing a white t-shirt and shorts, and the woman was in black clothing. Upon seeing the police, both appeared quite flustered, especially the man, whose shirt was still pulled up. The two tried to separate and leave the scene immediately, but were caught red-handed by the police. They were both taken to the police station for questioning.
Police investigation revealed the 34-year-old British man was suspected of being intoxicated, his statements were quite incoherent, and he told police he had autism and could not remember what he had done.
The woman involved was 61-year-old Thai national Nuchari, who initially claimed to police that she was Singaporean and studying in Thailand. However, local residents pointed out that the woman often roamed around the beach area and was actually Thai.
Currently, police have charged both individuals with 'indecent behavior in a public place,' an offense that carries a maximum fine of 5,000 baht. The case has been handed over to the investigation unit for further clarification.
