During his meeting with Pakistan's visiting Chief of Army Staff Munir, he said that Iran is committed to achieving comprehensive peace for both its own country and the entire region, and hopes that those countries that provoked war and are now eager to end it will cease their untrustworthy behavior.
He emphasized that achieving a comprehensive ceasefire in all conflict areas was one of the contents of the ceasefire agreement reached between Iran and the United States under the mediation of Pakistan. Lebanon is an indispensable link for a regional comprehensive ceasefire and plays an important role in promoting a sustainable regional peace process.
Munir said that Pakistan will continue to pay close attention to the situation in Lebanon, is earnestly advancing various consultations, and looks forward to meeting Ghalibaf again soon in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
From the 11th to the 12th of this month, Ghalibaf led a delegation in Islamabad for negotiations with a U.S. delegation, but no agreement was reached. On the 16th, U.S. President Trump said in an interview at the White House that the next talks between the U.S. and Iran may take place this weekend.
