Drivers Get Out to Argue After Fender Bender in Predator Zone—White Tigers Eye Them Like Onlookers

On August 31, a thrilling incident occurred in the predator zone of Hebei Qinhuangdao Wildlife Park in China. Two vehicles collided within the park, and both drivers and passengers actually got out to argue, while two nearby white tigers gradually approached, almost leading to an accident.

According to 'Hong Kong 01', online videos show that as the drivers and passengers from both vehicles got out to deal with the accident, a white tiger nearby was already watching them. The driver of the rear car shouted, "Bro, get in the car, there's a tiger watching, be careful!" A dozen seconds later, another white tiger approached to observe. The rear car driver immediately honked the horn and shouted, "Hey, get in the car!" but the two drivers ignored him.

Later, one male driver walked to the front of the car, and both tigers followed his steps, trailing him to the front side of the car to observe. After the male driver got in, the tigers shifted their gaze to the other driver until everyone was back in the cars. Even then, the tigers stayed and watched. Meanwhile, zoo staff drove a vehicle nearby, and the group eventually left the scene. From the video, the fence appeared less than half the height of an adult man.

Zoo staff responded that it is strictly forbidden to get out of vehicles or open the windows in the predator zone; the behavior of the two drivers had violated park rules. As soon as patrol staff noticed, they used loudspeakers to get them back inside, guiding them to a safe place to handle the situation. No accidents occurred and the incident has been reported to relevant departments.

Additionally, according to 'Xiaoxiang Morning Herald', visitors are given a safety reminder card when entering the park, which states: “Entering the predator zone—the animals are free-roaming. Please close all windows and sunroofs, lock your doors, and strictly do not get out of the vehicle. If you encounter difficulties, please contact staff or turn on your hazard lights as a warning signal.” A rescue number is also provided.

Furthermore, on August 18, Qinhuangdao Wildlife Park had posted a “Predator Zone Safety Tour Reminder” on its official WeChat account, once again clearly stating that getting out of vehicles is strictly prohibited.

In fact, this is not the first time a near-tragedy has occurred due to tourists violating park rules. In the past, at Beijing Badaling Wildlife Park, a visitor was attacked by a tiger after getting out to switch seats, resulting in one death and one injury.

Experts warn that although predator zones use a “free-roaming” model with separation facilities, the animals still possess hunting instincts. If visitors violate the guidelines, the consequences could be dire.
