(Kuching, 28th) A digital innovation center will be established in the Sadong area to provide a platform for young people who wish to participate in the business world.
Datuk Ibrahim Baki, assemblyman for Sadong, stated that the construction cost will reach 2.6 million ringgit and will offer facilities such as meeting rooms, seminar rooms, shared small offices, and hundreds of 'pigeonholes.'
"For young people who want to start a business, not everyone can afford to rent an office for several thousand ringgit a month, and now with the development of the digital economy, you can work from home."
However, he said that sometimes people need to meet clients or business partners in a suitable place, so this facility provides them with a meeting room where they can meet clients and business partners and build networking while using the address as an official address.
He revealed this when interviewed after presiding over the PBB Sadong branch 2024-2027 council meeting today.
He said that construction behind the Sadong Service Center will begin early next year and will take about 12 to 15 months to complete.
Meanwhile, he also provided an update on the development of Segedup housing, stating that land reclamation work is almost complete, including ongoing land and drainage engineering.
"The internal roadworks for the infrastructure are also nearly complete. Therefore, perhaps next year, they will start on infrastructure work, including piling. Piling work means construction. Thus, hopefully, infrastructure work can begin next year, and we may only see structures by 2026."
He added that the first phase will develop up to 271 units, with an additional 200 to 250 units in the second phase, totaling 500 units.
