The Temple of Heaven is a World Cultural Heritage Site and the most well-preserved ancient ritual architecture complex in the world. The Temple of Heaven, along with the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace, are famous historical sites in China that every U.S. president has visited during their trip to China.
Since 1972, eight U.S. presidents have visited China during their term. The last time the Temple of Heaven was included in the tour of an American president was during President Ford's visit in 1975.
