On the 10th, Thai police arrested a former member of the national parliament, accusing him of shooting and injuring a local government official and his driver.
This incident occurred in Nonthaburi province, north of Bangkok. Earlier this month on the 7th, the province was rocked by a shocking school shooting.
Nonthaburi Provincial Police Chief Delapi told AFP that former local councillor Chalong had been arrested and taken to the police station.
"We are investigating his motive. The two shooting victims are currently receiving treatment at the hospital."
According to Thai media reports, the shooting happened around 11 a.m. local time. One of the victims was Thongchai, chairman of the Nonthaburi provincial administrative organization, who was reported to be "seriously" injured, with some media saying he was shot in the head. The other victim was his driver.
Local media say that the shooting may have stemmed from a private dispute, but the police chief refused to comment.
Chalong was a former member of the party led by current Prime Minister Anutin.
On the 7th in Nonthaburi, a 14-year-old boy killed his grandparents, who had raised him, and then went on to kill several people at his school.
