The Seoul Central District Court issued an arrest warrant for former president Yoon Suk-yeol's wife, Kim Keon-hee, late at night on the 12th.

On the day of the 12th, the Seoul Central District Court conducted about four hours of pre-arrest questioning (detention necessity review) of Kim Keon-hee, and issued the arrest warrant late that night, citing "concerns about destruction of evidence".

After the questioning was over, Kim Keon-hee was sent to the Seoul Southern Detention Center and was taken into custody on the spot after the court approved her arrest.

This is the first time in the history of South Korea's constitutional system that a former president and spouse have both been detained simultaneously. Yoon Suk-yeol was arrested on July 10th on charges related to rebellion and is being detained at Seoul Detention Center.

The "Kim Keon-hee Special Investigation Team" filed a request for Kim Keon-hee's arrest with the court on the 7th on suspicion of violating the Capital Markets Act, Political Funds Act, and the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.

Prosecutors accuse Kim Keon-hee of providing financial support while the former chairman of Deutsch Motors allegedly instructed traders to manipulate stock prices between 2009 and 2012. Kim is also suspected of interfering in public office elections, among other allegations.
