U.S. President Trump stated on the 11th that Intel President Lip-Bu Tan's success story is 'remarkable.'
He posted on the social media platform 'Truth Social' after meeting with Tan at the White House: 'This meeting was very interesting. His success and rise is an amazing story. Mr. Tan will meet with members of my cabinet and provide recommendations to me next week.'
Attendees at the meeting included U.S. Secretary of Commerce Lutnick and Secretary of the Treasury Bessent.
Intel later said in a statement: 'Mr. Tan is honored to meet with President Trump and had a candid and constructive discussion on Intel's commitment to strengthening the leadership of U.S. technology and manufacturing.'
Intel noted that the company 'looks forward to working closely with President Trump and his administration to reshape this great American company together.'
Last week, Trump had asked Lip-Bu Tan to resign immediately, claiming that Tan's connections with Chinese companies posed a serious conflict of interest.
Born in Malaysia, Lip-Bu Tan is a well-known American entrepreneur and investor, having invested in hundreds of startups and hailed as the 'Godfather of Chip Venture Capital.' In March of this year, Intel announced the appointment of Tan as President.
