A suspected horrifying child abuse case has occurred in Indonesia. A 12-year-old boy from West Java Province was sent to the hospital covered in bruises, with his body full of shocking blisters and burn marks. Medical staff also discovered severe burns to his esophagus and internal organs, believing he had been forced to drink boiling water. In his final moments, the boy struggled to utter key testimony, identifying his stepmother as the abuser, which has triggered widespread outrage in the local community.

The victim, Nizam Shafi, lived in Sukabumi, West Java Province. His 38-year-old father, Anwar Satibi, revealed that on the 18th of this month, while he was at work, he suddenly received a call from his wife claiming that his son had suddenly developed a high fever and was critically ill. Satibi recalled that his son had been lively and energetic when he left that day, but upon returning home, he found the boy barely conscious, with his body covered in blisters, burns, and scald marks, and even his face showed signs of having been beaten.

In the early hours of the following day, Nizam was taken to the hospital. After examination, doctors found large areas of second- and third-degree burns on the boy’s arms, neck, and back, as well as permanent injuries to his mouth and nose, and swelling in his lungs. When questioned by medical staff, the stepmother absurdly claimed that the blisters were 'naturally caused by the fever.'

A heartbreaking video circulating online shows the dying Nizam lying in a hospital bed. When asked who had caused such horrific injuries, he used the last of his strength to raise a trembling finger towards his stepmother, weakly uttering the words 'Mommy.' Despite the hospital’s efforts to save him, Nizam succumbed to his injuries a few hours later, on the afternoon of the 19th.

Based on the injuries, doctors believe that Nizam had not only been scalded with hot water but was also very likely forced to drink boiling water, resulting in severe damage to his esophagus and internal organs.
