US President Trump stated on the 17th, while attending the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains, France, that the memorandum of understanding reached between the US and Iran is not a final agreement. He added that if the US believes Iran is not abiding by the memorandum, the US will strike Iran again.
He made these remarks during a meeting with Egyptian President Sisi, who was invited to the summit, and during a media session.
When answering questions from the press, he said: “This is not a final agreement, it is a memorandum of understanding. If I don’t like it, if they (Iran) do not comply (with the memorandum), we will immediately start bombing them again.”
Some media representatives at the scene asked Trump to confirm reports that the US-Iran memorandum contained a $300 billion (about 1.22 trillion ringgit) investment fund for Iran. Trump stated that the US “would not invest even 10 cents in Iran.”
He said that if any country decides to invest in Iran, “that is up to them.”
