The Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming, was invited to attend the launch ceremony of the "Hello! China" 2025 China Ice and Snow Tourism Overseas Promotion Season "Dream of Ice and Snow" global promotion event as the guest of honor. He transformed into a super salesman, warmly inviting entrepreneurs from 29 countries present to invest and travel in Malaysia.
He told the global industry players and investors present, "In the current complex geopolitical climate, with continuous conflicts in many regions, Malaysia ranks 10th on the Global Peace Index 2024. This clearly shows that Malaysia is far from war and socially stable, providing the best assurance for investors, businesses, and tourists."
Nga Kor Ming stated that Malaysia, during its tenure as the rotating chair of ASEAN, will host 357 international conferences and summits, further elevating its international standing.
"The ASEAN member countries mainly consist of a young consumer group. By 2030, ASEAN is expected to become the fourth-largest economic body in the world, with a total population reaching 685 million, showcasing immense economic market potential."
"Malaysia is acclaimed as the 'Charm of Asia', with picturesque tropical islands such as Semporna, Perhentian, Redang, and Langkawi, which are not only temperate all year round but also world-renowned diving spots."
Nga Kor Ming stated that Malaysia is also a "culinary paradise." The multicultural society has created a diverse culinary experience, from the famous Musang King durian and black thorn durian to Penang char kway teow, Ipoh white coffee, bean sprout chicken, the famously spicy nasi lemak, and colorful banana leaf rice, all of which are mouth-watering.
"Last month, Malaysia’s diverse breakfast culture was successfully listed by the United Nations as a world intangible cultural heritage, and we welcome travelers from around the world to come and taste it."
"In terms of language, Malaysia also boasts natural advantages. With nearly 7 million Chinese, Mandarin is widely spoken here; if you are from southern China, Cantonese and Minnan are also widely understood."
"In Malaysia, we often say 'express your love with the Malaysian weather'. Unlike Harbin's distinct seasons, Malaysia is summer all year round, but warmer than the weather is the hospitality of Malaysians! Malaysia's greatest attraction is its people." Nga Kor Ming expressed.
Nga Kor Ming's fluent Mandarin amazed officials and Chinese audiences at home and abroad. They praised the exquisite Mandarin proficiency of the Malaysian cabinet minister, and Zhang Xu, chairman of the World Tourism Alliance, commented that his speech was compelling and deeply appreciated by the audience.
Also present were Ma Li, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Leading Group of the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province, Zhang Xu, Chairman of the World Tourism Alliance, Harbin Vice Mayor Jiang Jun, and Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, along with guests from 29 countries, creating a lively atmosphere.
Notably, Nga Kor Ming was the only central minister from the Malaysian government present, receiving great attention from the Heilongjiang Provincial Government, marking the flourishing relations between Malaysia and China.
