Each year, the Hong Kong Film Awards includes a segment to remember departed members of the film industry. This year, the organizers paid a solemn yet heartfelt tribute, commemorating 37 film professionals who made outstanding contributions to Hong Kong cinema and extending the highest respect to those who passed away in the past year.
On the night of the awards, a solemn and respectful atmosphere filled the venue as the big screen played classic movie scenes of the departed stars, including famed Hong Kong food critic Chua Lam, Fung Shui-fan, who moved from Hong Kong to Taiwan in 1986, and Si Ming, who once served as a personal bodyguard for Sylvester Stallone during his promotional visit to Hong Kong.
Among the honored departed was 1980s leading man Poon Wang-ban, with the video specifying that he passed away in 2026 at the age of 63. Other late Hong Kong stars who left a deep impression on audiences included Hui Siu-hung and Leung Siu-lung.
