(United States, May 2) — The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) released two Chinese-language videos on May 1, aiming to recruit Chinese officials disillusioned with their government.

The first video portrays the struggles of a high-ranking Chinese official, describing an environment of backstabbing and ruthless ambition within the Party, where individuals climb the ranks by stepping on others. The official is shown living in constant fear.

In the video, the official says:
“In the Party, as I climbed higher, I saw those above me discarded like worn-out shoes. People disappearing without a trace became all too common.”

The official reveals that despite working hard for promotions, both he and his family live in fear:
“I’ve done nothing wrong, but I can’t keep living in fear. My family’s fate cannot be controlled by them...”

The second video tells the story of an ordinary official in China who decides to contact the CIA after losing hope in the system.

This official states:
“The leaders talk about improving people’s lives, but it’s all empty promises. I can’t just stay idle anymore—I refuse to lie flat. It’s time to build my own dreams.”

The video concludes with the message:
“Fortune favors the brave—take control of your destiny.”
