Omani Foreign Minister Badr announced on social media on the 6th that following recent discussions and engagements between Oman, the United States, and the relevant Yemeni authorities aimed at easing tensions, the United States and the 'Youth Movement' have reached a ceasefire agreement.
Badr stated that in the future, both parties will cease attacking each other, including refraining from targeting US ships in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb Strait, to ensure freedom of navigation and smooth international commercial shipping.
He expressed gratitude for the constructive attitude adopted by both parties in achieving this positive outcome and hoped that this move would pave the way for further progress on several regional issues, promoting justice, peace, and prosperity.
Trump: US to Cease Bombing
Additionally, US President Trump, during a media appearance at the White House with visiting Canadian Prime Minister Carney, stated that the Yemeni 'Youth Movement' has agreed to stop threatening the navigation safety in the Middle Eastern waters, and on this basis, the US will halt bombing the 'Youth Movement.'
He noted that the 'Youth Movement' has announced they “don't want to fight anymore,” “they have surrendered,” and the US will respect this decision and stop the airstrikes.
The 'Youth Movement' Denies
Nevertheless, according to Bloomberg, the 'Youth Movement' political committee denied the reports and stated that unless Israel stops its aggression against Gaza, the organization will not cease its attacks on US and Israeli ships.
