(Kuala Lumpur, 5th) PAS Deputy President Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim has denied that the party’s Members of Parliament support Larut MP Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin to continue serving as the Opposition Leader in the Parliament.

He stated that the party has already decided on a successor for the Opposition Leader post, and Hamzah Zainudin’s replacement will be announced "very soon."

According to a report by Utusan Malaysia, Tuan Ibrahim said the new Opposition Leader will be appointed before the June session of the Dewan Rakyat.

He said: “We have already selected the suitable candidate.”

PAS holds 43 parliamentary seats. Previously, a Bersatu MP claimed that most opposition MPs wanted Hamzah Zainudin to remain as the parliamentary Opposition Leader, which included PAS MPs.
