1500-Pound Bull ‘Runs Away from Home’ — Police Turn Into Cowboys and Give Chase on Horseback

A longhorn bull weighing about 1500 pounds (approximately 680 kilograms) in Alabama, USA, suddenly ‘escaped from home’ and wandered the streets, prompting a police and sheriff’s office response. The officers even temporarily transformed into ‘cowboys’, riding horses and wielding lassos to capture the bull, reenacting a real-life western scene.

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office recently posted on social media, explaining that after receiving a report, deputies and officers from the Carrollton Police Department launched a joint operation. At the time, the bull was found near Pickens Academy.

The longhorn bull then led the pursuing officers on a ‘chase’, not only crossing Highway 17 but also running all the way back to the residential area where it was first spotted.

The video shared by the sheriff’s office shows multiple law enforcement officers on horseback attempting to use lassos to subdue the bull, creating a scene reminiscent of a rodeo show.

In the end, the ‘runaway artist’ of massive proportions was successfully captured, with no people or animals injured during the process.

The police also humorously commented: ‘Today, we learned that maybe we’re more suited for patrol than making a living on the rodeo circuit.’

They joked: ‘We’ll hang our cowboy hats and boots back on the wall — at least until the next bull decides to go sightseeing, and then we’ll saddle up again.’
