(Brunei-Muara, 16th) 254 Brunei pilgrims safely arrived at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina at 2:48 PM today.
Accompanying the pilgrimage group are officials from the Brunei Hajj Affairs Office (administrative and medical) as well as representatives from cooperative units responsible for serving and caring for the pilgrims, including Darussalam Services Sdn Bhd (DSSB), Straits Central Agencies (B) Sdn Bhd (SCA), Dar El Ehsan Travel Sdn Bhd, and Raudah Al-Amin Sdn Bhd.
The reception ceremony was hosted by His Excellency Haji Harun Junaid, the Brunei Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Saudi Arabia in Riyadh, and his wife, with the presence of His Excellency Farhan Abdul Ghani Datuk His Majesty, the Honorary Consul-General of Brunei in Jeddah and his wife, along with senior officials from the Hajj Affairs Office and the various organizing companies.
This arrival marks the commencement of this year's pilgrimage journey for the first batch of Brunei pilgrims, who departed from Brunei International Airport on Royal Brunei Airlines flight BI4201 the day before.
The pilgrims are expected to begin the pilgrimage ceremonies in Medina within a few days, and then proceed to Mecca.
