(Saratok, 14th) A traffic accident involving two trucks carrying palm oil occurred in Sarikei. The public urgently called the police, and the fire and rescue team quickly acted on the scene.
The accident site was located at Jalan Krian Wong Limor in Sarikei, about 21 kilometers from the Sarikei Fire and Rescue Station. The accident involved a 16-ton truck colliding with a 3-ton truck climbing a slope due to a brake system failure. The collision trapped the 3-ton truck driver in the driver's seat but was fortunately rescued by the crowd on the scene and sent to Sarikei Hospital for treatment, sustaining minor injuries.
The accident occurred around 9 p.m. last night. The fire and rescue team received the call at 10:04 p.m. and arrived at the scene at 10:25 p.m., immediately commencing operations. Upon site confirmation, the 16-ton truck driver and its personnel were uninjured. Firefighters did not perform rescue cuts but assisted in cleaning the accident site, removing debris to ensure road safety and smoothness.
Driver information of both accident parties revealed that the 3-ton truck driver is a 32-year-old Iban male with minor injuries; the 16-ton truck driver, a 29-year-old Iban male, and his 24-year-old Malay male personnel were all safe.
The police also dispatched four personnel to assist in managing the scene. This incident did not cause major casualties.
