Xinhua News Agency reported on Saturday evening that the commemorative conference for the 100th anniversary of Jiang Zemin's birth will be held at 10 a.m. on August 17 in the Great Hall of the People. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, will attend the conference and deliver an important speech.
The report said major central media outlets, China Central Radio and Television, and Xinhuanet will broadcast the conference live. The main central media websites and new media platforms will simultaneously carry the broadcast.
August 17 marks the centenary of Jiang Zemin, considered the core of the third generation of Chinese leadership. Since last Tuesday (the 11th), China Central Television has been airing a 12-episode documentary series titled "Jiang Zemin" during the prime-time evening slot.
