(Miri, 14th) Four youths from the same village went to the beach at Kuala Balingian Batu Satu yesterday evening. Unexpectedly, one of them went missing after entering the water. The three companions on the shore did not see any sign of him for a long time and, realizing something was wrong, immediately sought help from the villagers.
After receiving the report at 6:40 PM last night, the Lutung Fire and Rescue Department quickly dispatched a rescue team to the scene. However, due to adverse weather conditions, the search and rescue operation posed safety risks, and the rescue team could only gather relevant information and postpone the operation until 8 AM today.
The four missing youths are aged between 15 and 17: Hazman Hazma, Hazjing Hajuman (the two are brothers), Mohamad Moa Amin Nain, and the missing person Mohamad Iba.
As of 11 AM today, the missing youth has not been found. Firefighters, with the assistance of the police, the Maritime Enforcement Agency, the Civil Defense Force, and the Sarawak Security Enforcement Unit, launched a comprehensive search and rescue operation along the coastline at 8:50 AM.
It is understood that the missing youth, Mohamad Iba, is the nephew of the village head of Kuala Balingian Batu Satu and also a member of the village's Community Firefighting Association. This incident has drawn significant attention from the local community, and the search and rescue efforts are still ongoing.
