Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during a meeting with Indonesia's National Economic Council Chairman Luhut that China is a trustworthy, long-term, and stable strategic partner in Indonesia's development and revitalization.
According to the official website of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi met with Luhut in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Saturday (August 22). Wang Yi said that under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indonesian President Prabowo, the relationship between China and Indonesia has maintained a good development momentum.
Wang Yi stated that practice has proven that strengthened friendly cooperation between China and Indonesia not only vigorously promotes the development of both countries, but also sets an example of mutually beneficial cooperation for countries of the Global South. China is a reliable, long-term, and stable strategic partner in Indonesia's development and revitalization.
Wang Yi remarked that currently, the Global South is experiencing a collective rise, with China and Indonesia as important representatives. The two countries are geographically close, economically complementary, and both consistently pursue friendly policies towards each other. Further deepening of cooperation between China and Indonesia holds the advantages of the right time, geographical proximity, and favorable conditions.
Wang Yi said that China is willing to fully leverage the mechanisms of the comprehensive strategic dialogue and the "2+2" dialogue with Indonesia, to eliminate interference, enhance mutual trust, further tap potential, and promote cooperation in all fields to advance with the times and upgrade in quality.
Wang Yi also said that China sincerely supports Indonesia in speeding up its development process, encourages and supports Chinese enterprises to continue investing and doing business in Indonesia, and helps Indonesia transform its resource advantages into development momentum and people’s well-being, with the aim of better enhancing its independent development capabilities and accelerating the process of industrialization. He further expressed hope and confidence that the Indonesian government will provide Chinese enterprises with a safe, stable, and favorable business environment.
During an earlier meeting with Prabowo, Wang Yi stated that in the face of a turbulent and uncertain world, China and Indonesia need to strengthen unity even more to tackle severe external challenges.
