(Miri, 28th) Miri Member of Parliament Chiew Choon Man went to the Surau Lereng Bukit prayer room this morning to inspect the operations of the location as a temporary registration center for landslide victims and comfort the affected residents.
He stated that the relevant departments are currently working tirelessly to confirm the identities of the affected people and arrange follow-up aid plans to ensure that all affected families can receive timely assistance.

Chiew Choon Man emphasized that he will closely monitor the development of the situation and provide necessary assistance to those in need. “We must prioritize ensuring the safety of the affected residents and quickly address their actual needs to mitigate the impact of the disaster on their lives.”
It is understood that the Lereng Bukit area has experienced continuous heavy rainfall recently, leading to several landslide incidents. The local government has arranged emergency shelters to provide temporary refuge for the affected residents and is coordinating multiple forces to carry out rescue and follow-up work.
