KOTA SAMARAHAN: A teenager with disabilities (OKU) escaped unscathed while her mother was found unconscious after their car plunged into a lake at UNIMAS this morning.
The incident happened at around 10.30 am when the Perodua Bezza, carrying the woman and her daughter, fell into the lake.
The 17-year-old girl with autism was able to exit the vehicle on her own while her 50-year-old mother was pulled out of the car by members of the public.
The mother was in an unconscious state and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they were alerted of the incident at around 10.40 am and promptly dispatched firefighters from Kota Samarahan fire station to the scene.
Firefighters later used a rope to pull the vehicle out of the water.
It is unclear how the incident happened as the case is still under investigation.
