Taiwanese actress Joe Chen, known as the "Queen of Idol Dramas" for her roles in series such as "The Prince Who Turns into a Frog" and "Fated to Love You", was recently found to be a "box office poison" with her latest film "The Way Home".

It is reported that the film "The Way Home", starring Joe Chen, recently debuted in China, but faced a box office flop. According to the latest box office data, "The Way Home" sold only 33,000 RMB (approximately 20,000 MYR) twelve days after its release on January 4. Even more dismal, two cinemas screened the film on New Year's Eve, selling only 4 tickets.

In response, the film's production company stated that the film had a normal release without any issues. "The Way Home" stars Joe Chen along with veteran actors Fan Wei, Xu Fan, and Zhang Chenguang, and the plot describes an inspiring story of a man doing household work on behalf of his wife while helping others as he hustles for a living. However, viewers who have seen the film criticized it, saying that when they saw the posters featuring many big-name stars, they thought it would be a good film, so they bought tickets to watch it. To their disappointment, the big stars only made brief appearances and were never seen again, and the plot was extremely chaotic with characters behaving illogically, with major characters suddenly falling out and then suddenly reconciling.
