(Bandar Seri Begawan, 19th) The Brunei polo team continued their participation in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games 2025, facing off against the Malaysian polo team yesterday at Padang Vs Sports Club in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Honorary Life President of the Southeast Asian Games Federation and President of the Brunei National Olympic Council, Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, along with Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah, were present to watch the match. Representing the Brunei polo team were Prince Martin and Princess Adi Mazatul, and Jefri Bolkiah's son, Prince Sahyb, also joined the team.
In the first chukka, Brunei led Malaysia with a score of 3.5 to 2. The second chukka was evenly matched, and the game was fiercely contested, with both sides performing at their best. In the end, as the final whistle sounded, the Malaysian team gained a 40-yard penalty shot, with the Brunei team’s score remaining unchanged while the Malaysian team added two points.
In the third chukka, the Brunei team scored an additional point, while Malaysia added two more. During the fourth chukka, Brunei gained another point, but Malaysia added three, with Brunei ultimately losing to Malaysia by 5.5 to 9.
