IPOH, July 17 (Bernama) -- The launch of the 2026 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang Campaign, held in conjunction with the National Day and Malaysia Day 2026 (HKHM2026), is expected to draw around 3,000 people at the Sultan Azlan Shah Institute of Health Training (ILKKM SAS) in Tanjung Rambutan here.

Perak State Government Corporate Division Principal Assistant Secretary Anita Amri said the event, to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on July 19, will bring together, among others, the MADANI Community, trainees and staff of ILKKM SAS.

However, she said the public can follow the event live on the official Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) television channels, as well as the official Facebook pages of the Ministry of Communications and the Department of Information Malaysia (JAPEN).

"To help the public access official, accurate and up-to-date information on the National Day and Malaysia Day 2026, the Ministry of Communications, through JAPEN, has launched the Merdeka360 Portal as the official platform bringing together various information related to the celebrations.

"Through the Merdeka360 Portal at www.merdeka360.my, the public can access a wide range of information, including national, state and district-level programmes, event calendars, the official HKHM 2026 theme and logo, publicity materials, a gallery, patriotic songs and the latest announcements, which will be updated from time to time," she said in an interview with PerakFM radio here today.

Meanwhile, Anita called on the public to buy and fly the Jalur Gemilang as a symbol of national pride and patriotism in support of the 1 Rumah 1 Jalur Gemilang campaign to enliven the HKHM2026 celebrations.

"At the same time, we must ensure that the Jalur Gemilang is always in good condition. Avoid flying flags that are worn, faded or torn. Instead, display the flag with pride and respect at your homes, workplaces or on your vehicles," she said.

Anita said love for the country also requires a positive ripple effect within the community, encouraging family members, friends, neighbours and the wider community to fly the Jalur Gemilang.

"Make use of social media to share the spirit of patriotism so that more Malaysians can join in celebrating the National Day and Malaysia Day 2026," she said.

Previously, Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said "Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati" (Malaysia MADANI: Shared Prosperity) had been chosen for this year's theme, while the Malaysia MADANI logo would remain the official logo for the celebrations until next year.

Fahmi said the 2026 National Day celebrations will be held at Dataran Putrajaya on Aug 31 on a modest scale while still maintaining a lively atmosphere.
