Miri Chung Hua Entertainment Gala Enters 29th Year Lai Jia Ling: Inheriting the Bond of the Nine Origins

(Miri, 26th) Miri Chung Hua Middle School principal Lai Jia Ling stated that this year marks the 29th annual Miri Chung Hua Middle School Entertainment Night. This is not just a campus event, but also a collective memory treasured through the years—an imprint of youth shared by generations of Chung Hua members.
She said this during her speech at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Entertainment Night held last night at the school hall.
She pointed out that behind the lights and applause are countless figures working silently, as well as an emotion that transcends time; she emphasized, "When drinking water, remember its source, and you’ll see things through to the end."
This year’s gala is themed "Carrying the aspiration of the Nine Origins, illuminating the Chung Hua hearts." The "Nine Origins" symbolizes the long-term support and protection that Miri's nine major clan associations have given to the school, which is the root of this emotional bond; "illuminating" symbolizes the ideals and beliefs of the new generation of students—advancing in inheritance and shining with gratitude.

She said that in order to present a spectacular stage, students poured a great deal of effort into everything from brainstorming to repeated rehearsals, from lighting adjustments to stage positioning. This is not only a performance, but also a journey of growth, allowing students to learn cooperation and persistence, and to retain their passion even under pressure.
"When the curtains rise, what we witness is not just a program, but a group of young people lighting up their dreams with hard work. Every movement, every melody is the truest expression of youth."
She pointed out that this gala is also a life lesson outside the textbooks, letting students learn gratitude and understand that today’s stage is built on the efforts of their predecessors.
The entire event was presented with fresh arrangements and diverse programs, showcasing the creativity and vitality of contemporary secondary students, and reflecting the school’s spirit of continual breakthrough and growth in the new era.

She also, on behalf of the school, extended her deepest respect and thanks to the nine major clan associations of Miri, describing their long-standing support as a guiding light illuminating the school’s path.

She also mentioned that in her three years as principal, she has witnessed 22 Chung Hua Entertainment Nights and has seen how the event has become more impressive each year.
