(Miri 19th) Miri Member of Parliament Chiew Choon Man visited Miri Home for the Elderly yesterday together with the Malaysian Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Sustainability, Nik Nazmi. The purpose of this visit was to provide them with rice and daily necessities sponsored by the Minister. This effort is part of our commitment to bring joy and attention to the elderly, so they can celebrate upcoming festive occasions with joy and gratitude.
He said that in addition to distributing aid supplies, I also took this opportunity to inspect the facilities of the home for the elderly, particularly basic facilities like the toilets. I installed auxiliary equipment in the 14 toilets at the home for the elderly to ensure the safety of the elderly when using the facilities.
“As the Member of Parliament for Miri, I am committed to continuing to provide assistance to the Miri Home for the Elderly and all welfare centers in Miri. This commitment includes ensuring their needs are always prioritized, improving existing facilities, and organizing more projects that benefit them.”
I want to thank all the staff and volunteers at the home for the elderly for their dedication and efforts in taking care of the residents' welfare. I believe that with continued cooperation from all parties, we can certainly make the Miri Home for the Elderly the best model for elderly care services.
