(Bandar Seri Begawan, 7th) His Majesty the Sultan safely arrived in Cebu City, Philippines last night to attend the 48th ASEAN Summit and related summits, to be held from May 7 to 8, 2026.
His Majesty was accompanied by his son, Prince Mateen.
Upon arrival at the Benito Ebuen Air Base in Cebu, His Majesty was warmly welcomed by Philippine Secretary of Social Welfare and Development Rexlon T Gatchalian; Governor of Cebu Province Pamela S. Baricuatro; Mayor of Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Cynthia Chan; Director of the Presidential Protocol Office Reichel Quinones; and senior Philippine officials.
Among those present to welcome the Sultan was Brunei's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Philippines, Megawati.
