According to a CCTV News report on the 28th, the CCP Central Politburo held a meeting to study and deploy rescue and relief efforts for the landslide disaster in Gyirong County, Xigaze City, Tibet. General Secretary Xi Jinping presided over the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Xi Jinping proposed that all present stand. Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, and all others present stood in silence to mourn those who died in the landslide disaster in Gyirong County, Xigaze City, Tibet.
The meeting pointed out that this disaster was caused by a landslide on the Nepal side, resulting in major casualties and missing persons at the Gyirong port in Gyirong County, Xigaze City, Tibet. After the disaster occurred, the CCP Central Committee attached great importance to it, and Xi Jinping immediately gave instructions, issuing clear requirements for the rescue and emergency response efforts.
Entrusted by Xi Jinping, Politburo Standing Committee member and Premier of the State Council Li Qiang rushed to the disaster area to visit affected people and rescue and relief personnel, providing guidance on-site for the rescue and emergency response work.
