(Phnom Penh, 27th) Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said that Cambodia is willing to discuss a ceasefire agreement with Thailand to end the border conflict.
According to AFP, on Sunday (July 27), Hun Manet said the Cambodian foreign minister will meet with US Secretary of State Rubio to coordinate Cambodia-Thailand relations, but he warned Bangkok not to violate any agreements.
Hun Manet also welcomed a phone call from US President Trump and his proposal for a ceasefire.
Despite growing discussions around a potential ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia, the two countries exchanged fire for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday.
An AFP reporter in the Cambodian town of Samraong, about 20 km from the border conflict zone, heard the sound of artillery fire from dawn.
Thailand's national broadcaster quoted Thai military sources as reporting that gunfire was heard continuously at the Thai-Cambodian border early Sunday morning.
The broadcaster later reported that at 6:40am local time, a Cambodian shell struck a house in Surin province.
