Chinese Embassy Urges Avoidance of Thai-Cambodian Conflict Areas

(Thailand, 27th) The conflict between Thailand and Cambodia has further escalated. The Chinese Embassy in Thailand has once again issued a notice, urging Chinese citizens to avoid traveling to the Thai-Cambodian border conflict areas.
On Saturday, July 26, the Chinese Embassy in Thailand issued a safety alert on its official website, stating that exchanges of fire are still ongoing at the Thai-Cambodian border, and that Thai authorities have imposed martial law in some areas of Chanthaburi and Trat provinces. The embassy once again reminds Chinese citizens in Thailand, especially those close to the conflict areas, to closely monitor developments, pay attention to their safety, and avoid going to relevant areas along the Thai-Cambodian border.
The embassy also urges personnel and institutions already in the area to pay attention to the security guidance issued by the local government, and to take timely precautions and evacuate if necessary. In case of emergency, promptly call the police and seek assistance from the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in Thailand.
The embassy's website had also, on Thursday (July 24), advised Chinese citizens in Thailand to pay attention to the security guidance in the Thai-Cambodian border region.
The Chinese Embassy in Cambodia also on Saturday reminded Chinese citizens in Cambodia, especially those close to the conflict areas, through its WeChat public account, to closely monitor the local security situation, increase vigilance, strengthen precautions, pay attention to safety, and avoid traveling to the Cambodia-Thailand border areas. Personnel and institutions already in the area are urged to evacuate or relocate to safe places as soon as possible. In case of emergency, promptly call the police and seek assistance from the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia.
The embassy in Cambodia also reminded Chinese citizens in Cambodia on Thursday, especially those near the conflict areas, to closely monitor the local security situation and avoid traveling to the Cambodia-Thailand border areas.
