The Thai authorities announced on the 7th that from August 16 to October 7, the floods in Thailand have resulted in 52 deaths and 28 injuries.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation stated that since mid-August, 23 provinces in Thailand have been hit by floods, primarily concentrated in the northern and northeastern regions, affecting over 66,000 households across 1647 villages.
The floods persist in nine provinces in the north, including Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lampang, Lamphun, Nakhon Sawan, Phetchabun, Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, and Tak.
Seven provinces in the northeast have been submerged, namely Buriram, Chaiyaphum, Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, Nakhon Ratchasima, Ubon Ratchathani, and Udon Thani.
In the central region, the provinces of Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom, Suphan Buri, and Sing Buri have experienced floods.
In the south, two provinces have been affected by flooding, namely Nakhon Si Thammarat and Songkhla.
