(Klang, 3rd) — A palm oil tanker overturned while on its way to Bandar Sultan Suleiman, spilling oil onto a nearby road.
Klang North District Police Chief Vijaya stated in a press release on Sunday (May 3) that the accident occurred on Saturday (May 2) at 1:55 p.m. The tanker, coming from Rantau Panjang, Klang, was descending a bridge when the lock on the top of the tank came loose, causing the tanker to overturn onto the left lane of the highway exit.
"The 49-year-old male driver was not injured and has proactively reported the incident to the police. The driver's urine test result was negative."
Vijaya urged anyone with information to provide leads by visiting any nearby police station or contacting traffic investigation officer Kishen Raj at 011-26249291.
The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
