(Iran, 1st) Iranian President Pezeshkian said that for Iran, resolving differences through diplomatic means has always been the top priority.

He said: "War serves neither Iran's interests, nor those of the United States and the entire region."

According to reports by Xinhua News Agency and Agence France-Presse, based on a statement released by the Iranian presidential office on Saturday night (January 31), Iranian President Pezeshkian made the above remarks during a phone conversation with Egyptian President Sisi.
Pezeshkian pointed out that the United States and Israel are escalating confrontations with Iran, while Iran insists on "dignified diplomacy on the basis of equality and far from threats." "Any act of aggression or attack against Iran will be met with a decisive and forceful response; but at the same time, Iran will continue to insist on resolving issues through diplomacy."

The Egyptian presidential office issued a statement the same day, stating that Sisi, during the phone call with Pezeshkian, emphasized that further escalation of regional tensions should be avoided, and opposed the use of military means to resolve political differences.

He noted that any escalation of tensions and conflict would not only have negative impacts on Iran, but also affect the entire region.
Sisi stated that Egypt will continue to actively promote the return of the United States and Iran to negotiations, seeking a peaceful and comprehensive political solution to the Iranian nuclear issue in order to promote the stability of the region and the international community.

U.S. President Trump confirmed on Saturday that the United States and Iran are in dialogue.

He told Fox News: "(Iran) is in talks with us, we will see what we can do, otherwise we will see what happens ... We have sent a large fleet to the region."

He added, "They are negotiating."

The Qatari Foreign Ministry said that Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed held talks with the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Larijani, in Tehran on Saturday, aiming to "ease regional tensions."
