Shooting Incident in Louisiana, USA Leaves Five Injured

(US, 1st) A shooting incident occurred in Louisiana, USA on Saturday (January 31), leaving five people injured, including a child.

According to Xinhua News Agency, the shooting took place in the town of Clinton, Louisiana, during a “Country Carnival” parade.

Local police told the media that the incident resulted in five injuries, including a six-year-old child.

Police also said that at noon, just as the parade procession began to move, gunshots were heard in front of the East Feliciana Parish Courthouse. The parade was immediately cancelled.

Three suspects are currently in police custody. Police emphasized: “We have detained these three people... this does not mean they have been identified as the perpetrators of the shooting. The identities of these suspects have been confirmed. They were in possession of firearms near the scene at the time of the incident, which is why they were detained by the police.”

The case is still under investigation.
