On the evening of the 21st, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration Head Hanza said that Russian forces launched a drone attack on a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih that afternoon, leaving at least 15 dead and 130 injured, of whom 29 are in serious condition.
He said the injured included 23 children.
Kryvyi Rih is an industrial city about 60 kilometers (37 miles) from the front line. Since the outbreak of the war, it has been repeatedly attacked by Russia.
Ukrainian President Zelensky stated on social media that this Russian attack was carried out in two waves, half an hour apart, with the second wave hitting rescue teams.
He pointed out that the second Russian drone struck the shopping center half an hour after the first, clearly aiming to sabotage emergency rescue operations.
He said this attack was “absolutely ruthless, despicable, and shameless.”
He said such attacks are tantamount to acts of terrorism and called on the international community to hold Russia accountable.
