Chiew Choon Man Wins Without Contest, Becomes Chairman of Miri Branch

(Miri, 1st) The candidate list for the 2025 Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) branch election has been officially finalized, with Miri Member of Parliament Chiew Choon Man successfully nominated as the chairman of the Miri branch, and elected without any competitors.

This election covers multiple positions in the Miri branch, including deputy chairman, vice-chairman, and 15 branch committee members. Additionally, elections for the PKR Youth Wing (AMK) and Women's Wing are also being held simultaneously to elect their respective chairmen, deputy chairmen, vice-chairmen, and branch committee members.

Chiew Choon Man  expressed his gratitude to former Miri branch chairman Dr. Micheal Teo and his leadership team for their contributions. He stated that Dr. Micheal Teo  led the branch to achieve numerous accomplishments during his tenure, making important contributions to the development of Miri region, and serving as a model and motivation for the new leadership team.

“I will continue to seek Dr. Micheal Teo advice to learn from his valuable experience, ensuring that the leadership team of the Miri branch can develop steadily, continuously strengthen the party organization, and promote the concept of justice and fairness.” 

Chiew Choon Man stated that the new leadership team combines experienced senior party members and energetic young members, hoping to bring more substantial development to the Miri community through the spirit of teamwork.

He emphasized that the new Miri branch will focus on four core goals, including strengthening the party organization structure, increasing the branch's inclusiveness, making the party closer to the community and actively responding to the needs of the public. Deepening the core concepts of PKR, promoting justice, social welfare, and the well-being of all people, striving for a better future for all people. Implementing benefit activities, covering education, entrepreneurship, social welfare, and community services to benefit society through practical actions. And protecting the rights of the people of Miri, focusing on economic growth, social development, and environmental sustainability to ensure the voices of the people of Miri are heard.

Chiew Choon Man pointed out that the new leadership team is ready and will do their utmost to promote the development of Miri, while strengthening cooperation with various parties, committed to improving the quality of life of the citizens.

“I sincerely thank all party members, supporters, and citizens of Miri who have trusted and supported us. We will uphold the core principles of PKR and strive to promote a more prosperous and harmonious Miri.” 

He also called on all PKR members, supporters, and citizens of Miri to work together to build a stronger and more resilient Miri branch, allowing the vision of the people of Miri to be realized and driving the nation forward.
