Former Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's son, Tan Sri Kamaluddin, has denied accusations by Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, stating that he never said, "Now it's our turn to steal money."
He took to social media to refute the accusations by former Prime Minister Mahathir, categorically denying ever having said, "Now it's our turn to steal money."
"I have never said such a thing, nor have I done such a thing."
Mahathir recently revealed that after he handed over power to Abdullah in 2003, Abdullah's son directly told Mahathir's son that it was their turn to seize the opportunity to steal. Mahathir was shocked by this.
In his writing, Kamaluddin stated that Mahathir seems to be extremely dissatisfied and angry with many issues and people.
"What we can do is pray for Mahathir and hope he finds inner peace in his later years."
In 2003, after Abdullah took over from Mahathir, he led the Barisan Nasional coalition to a landslide victory in the following year's general election.
However, Mahathir later disagreed with the Abdullah administration's decisions on several issues, including the cancellation of the "crooked bridge" project to replace the Johor-Singapore Causeway.
