Hong Kong actor Hoi Chun Kit suddenly uploaded a selfie video on social media on the night of the 8th, with a serious expression and choking back tears, he announced that his makeup artist wife, Mo Ka Chi, is suffering from acute liver cirrhosis and urgently needs to raise HK$700,000 (about RM375,000) for a liver transplant at a hospital in China. He tearfully pleaded to netizens for help: “I hope everyone can help as much as they can, thank you so much.”
Hoi Chun Kit stated that his wife has been diagnosed with acute liver cirrhosis, and the surgery costs up to HK$1.5 million (about RM805,000). Although he has already raised HK$700,000 from friends, there is still a huge gap between that and the total amount needed. Emotionally, Hoi Chun Kit stressed the urgency: “In these past two days, doctors said a liver transplant is possible. We have already been hospitalized in Hong Kong for 20 days and were transferred directly to Zhongshan Hospital by ambulance. Financially, some very good friends have already raised HK$700,000, but now... I still need... HK$700,000! I hope everyone can help as much as possible, because every minute, every second... is critical.”
To prove the authenticity of his plea for help, he specifically mentioned the current time (10 p.m. on November 8) in the video and tearfully clarified: “I am Hoi Chun Kit. I am not a scammer. I can provide proof of everything to everyone afterward.” He further explained that his wife’s condition is extremely critical and the doctors informed him that a liver transplant within “two days” is crucial: “I hope everyone can help. Thank you all so much, thank you for your help, thank you.”
