44-year-old Korean goddess Jun Ji-hyun has been in showbiz for 28 years and is making her very first appearance on a YouTube variety show, joining as a guest on Hong Jin-kyung’s program Learning King, True Genius, whom she previously worked with in My Love from the Star. On the show, Jun Ji-hyun revealed her daily routine—she wakes up at 6 a.m. to exercise and, no matter how busy she is, personally takes care of housework and her two sons, without ever hiring a helper. When asked if she does the laundry and dishes, she shyly replied, “I do it all.” She also shared the story of dating her wealthy husband, Choi Jun-hyuk, revealing that they met through a matchmaking setup and frankly admitting, “He’s really handsome.” When asked if it was love at first sight, she openly replied, “I think so,” making everyone envious.
Jun Ji-hyun married Choi Jun-hyuk in 2012, and after 13 years, their relationship is still sweet. On the latest episode of Learning King, True Genius, she opened up about her life story from debut to marriage. She revealed she met her husband through a friend’s introduction; initially, she hadn’t planned on attending. “It felt very stressful,” she admitted, but she still showed up in the end. Laughing, she said: “The person who introduced us said he was very handsome. I felt a bit pressured, but somehow I found myself there anyway.”
Host Nam Chang-hee curiously asked Jun Ji-hyun about her first impression of Choi Jun-hyuk, noting that he is known as the “Jang Dong-gun of Euljiro” for his looks. Jun Ji-hyun straightforwardly said, “He’s very handsome,” explaining that her husband’s company is in Euljiro, hence the nickname. When Nam Chang-hee pressed, “Was it love at first sight?” Jun Ji-hyun did not hide it, saying, “I think so,” basking in her happiness.
As a “career mom,” Jun Ji-hyun has a 9-year-old elder son and a 7-year-old younger son. She has previously said her wish is to be a “virtuous wife and good mother.” Hong Jin-kyung remarked, “I heard she doesn’t hire any help, which was really surprising! Even during the exhausting filming schedule of Dominant Species, I heard she did all the housework herself; it’s amazing.” When asked if she personally cleans, does laundry, and dishes, Jun Ji-hyun shyly replied, “I do it all,” embodying the image of an exemplary wife and mother.
Despite her tight schedule with acting and housework, Jun Ji-hyun insists on daily exercise and never slacks off. She shared her daily routine: “I wake up at around 6 a.m., and start exercising at 8 a.m.” She always works out on an empty stomach to maintain healthy habits, doing not only jogging but also recently getting into boxing. She doesn’t eat until 2 p.m., choosing foods like eggs, avocado, and yogurt; dinner is at 5 p.m. and she doesn’t restrict her diet. “I’m the type that winds down at night and usually go to bed around 11 p.m.” Her disciplined routine left everyone self-reflecting, with praise that goddess-like figures aren’t made in a day.
